  • FHWA and the National Operations Center of Excellence: "Securing Transportation Systems" Webinar

The growing issue of cybersecurity and its impact on the highway environment have highlighted safety and operational risks to our roadways' critical infrastructures. In order to understand these challenges a clearer picture of past incidents on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) deployments, lessons learned, specific defensive countermeasures, and potential future technology deployments is necessary. This webinar will introduce the issues and concerns related to securing three types of ITS technologies and share best practices to help mitigate some of the potential vulnerabilities. The webinar will be hosted Ray Murphy, ITS Specialist with FHWA Office of Technical Services. The target audience for this webinar includes state and local/city transportation agency personnel who are involved in traffic management, ITS operations and maintenance of the transportation system. This webinar will also benefit other practitioners and professionals who are interested in learning about the vulnerabilities, risks, and issues related to cyber security on transportation systems.
